About Dr. Rosenthal

Dr. Al Rosenthal was born in a small town in southern Illinois and grew up in suburban St. Louis. He graduated from the University of Missouri school of medicine in 1984. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 1991. Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Louisville was completed in 1993 and a fellowship in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery followed. He has been board certified in Plastic Surgery since 1997 and recertified in 2006. In addition he holds a certificate of added qualification in hand surgery. He is married and has dreams of sailing away into his retirement (Or at least settling down at the beach).

Practice philosophy: Dr. Rosenthal feels that each patient should be treated with the utmost respect and is willing to spend as much time as necessary explaining the options and discussing the pros and cons of all choices. His goal is to make each patient feel like they have enough information to make the choice that is best for them. Dr. Rosenthal thoroughly enjoys educating patients about their condition and never wants them to feel rushed into a decision. This is not a practice driven by pressure filled marketing. Decisions should not be rushed. Dr. Rosenthal never wants you to feel like you must schedule a procedure before leaving the office.
